About J&C Grocery
Our history began in 1977 when Jay and Carol Skarr decided to venture out with the concept of a local grocery store. Mason City's location opened up on South Jefferson, followed by Dumont, Allison, then Sheffield. In the early 1990's Mason City's location was closed to bring more attention to the smaller stores.
J&C Grocery prides itself on being locally owned and operated as well as being a key part of the communities we serve. We also pride ourselves in being part of the Affiliated foods network; a network of almost 850 hometown grocery stores buying together to keep costs down.
Whether you are a repeat customer or someone who is traveling, we welcome you to our stores and hope we may serve you. If there is anything you need don't hesitate to ask, we are here to serve you!

Special Orders
We can fill most special orders whether it be a certain amount of meat, food products, fruit and gift baskets, or meat and cheese trays. Ask for your special order at any of our three locations.
